Structural packaging design
Box structures, dielines and custom inserts that fit the product, survive shipping and print right the first time. I design the structure and the artwork together, so the graphics land exactly on the panels they are meant for.

What’s included
- Dieline from your product dimensions, or adapted from your printer’s template
- Panel planning: what goes on the front, sides, flaps and inside

- Bleed, safe zones, glue and fold lines, finish layers for foil, emboss and spot UV
- 3D render of the folded box so you can approve it before sampling
- Press-ready PDF plus editable Illustrator files for the printer

Before freelancing I spent four years as the in-house packaging designer at a cosmetics manufacturer, so files are built for the press, not just the screen.

Questions
What is structural packaging design?
Structural packaging design is the engineering of the box itself: its shape, folds, closures and inserts, drawn as a dieline the printer cuts from. Good structure protects the product, opens well and leaves the right panels for branding.
Can you create a dieline from my product size?
Yes. Send the product dimensions (or the product itself photographed with a ruler) and the box style you want. I draw the dieline with the right tolerances, or adapt the template your printer supplies.
Do you design inserts for rigid and mailer boxes?
Yes. I design paperboard, EVA foam and moulded inserts with a cut-out for each item, sized to your product so nothing rattles in transit.
Which files will my printer receive?
A press-ready PDF with the dieline on its own layer, plus editable Adobe Illustrator files with fonts outlined, CMYK or Pantone colours and finish layers for foil, emboss or spot UV.
